About
Karen Snyder Duke is the editorial operations director at POPSUGAR, where she helps guide network-wide analytics, reporting, and tracking; project manages editorial tentpoles and brand programs; helps lead the site’s SEO strategy; and consistently works to improve brand guidelines, trainings, and processes so that teams can function more efficiently.
Karen began her career in the print magazine industry, working as an editor at several publications, including Parents, American Baby, Redbook, and Good Housekeeping, over the course of nine years. She reached the pinnacle of her print career at Redbook, where as a senior health editor, she oversaw a 10-page section that was consistently rated highest by the brand’s readers.
Editorial leaders at Redbook credited Karen with helping to shape the magazine’s unique voice, using a mix of highly-packaged service pieces and in-depth reports intended to drive the conversation around issues like infertility and women’s cancers. Her work earned top honors in the Clarion, Min, Folio, and National Health Information awards; in 2015, she was named one of Min's Rising Stars, which recognizes media leaders under 30.
Karen first joined POPSUGAR in 2018 as a Voices editor, assigning health and fitness content through the brand's robust freelance program. Having proven her ability to drive content strategy and traffic across categories, Karen was promoted to Voices director in 2022. Later that year, she moved into her current role, serving the larger network.
Karen lives in Manhattan with her husband, Nathan, a cat named Madison, and two pint-sized pups, Lexie and Theo.
